PATON™ ECO 250 – POWERFUL SOLUTION IN A COMPACT FORM

PATON™ ECO 250 is a modern inverter welder designed for direct-current arc welding (MMA). The device combines high efficiency with low weight and a compact design, which means it performs excellently both in home applications and in mobile work – for assemblers, service technicians, installers and in workshops. It is equipment that offers full functionality and ease of use without the need to sacrifice key technical parameters.

MORE POSSIBILITIES IN A COMPACT EDITION

The PATON™ ECO 250 model offers a maximum welding current reaching 250A, which allows comfortable work with a wide range of electrodes with diameters from Ø1,6 mm to Ø5,0 mm – including the more difficult-to-handle basic electrodes, such as type 7018. The unit ensures a stable arc and precise ignition, which translates into high weld quality, even in unfavourable field conditions.

A duty cycle at the level of at least 40 % at maximum load makes the welder perfectly suited to a wide range of applications – from simple repairs, through assembly works, up to prefabrication of steel components. Thanks to the compact housing and low weight, the unit remains handy and easy to transport, whilst at the same time ready for intensive use. A housing with IP33 ingress-protection class effectively shields the interior of the welder against dust and precipitation at an angle up to 60° from vertical, increasing its resistance to difficult working conditions in the field.

MAXIMUM MOBILITY THANKS TO INVERTER TECHNOLOGY

The application of inverter technology, which increases the frequency of the voltage supplying the transformer, has made it possible to significantly reduce the dimensions and mass of the unit – with no compromises regarding power or operating parameters. The welder itself weighs only 4,35 kg, which makes it exceptionally light and mobile. Thanks to this, the PATON™ ECO 250 is an excellent choice for users seeking compact equipment, convenient to transport, which will perform both in workshop conditions and during field work.

RELIABLE OPERATION EVEN WITH VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS

The PATON™ ECO 250 welder has been designed with reliable operation in mind under conditions of irregular power supply. The device operates without disturbances within a wide input-voltage range – from 170 V to 260 V – which makes it ideal in locations with limited access to a high-quality grid, such as building sites, outdoor works, or supply from generating sets.

The integrated current-stabilisation system enables safe and smooth welding even when using long extension leads. For instance, when welding with a Ø4,0 mm electrode at 160A one can work with an extension lead of 2,5 mm² cross-section over a distance of up to 95 metres without deterioration of parameters. For a Ø5,0 mm electrode and a current of 250A, the use of a 4,0 mm² cable allows full performance to be maintained at a lead length of up to 100 metres. Such capabilities make the ECO 250 model an ideal choice wherever power conditions are difficult and mobility and reliability are of key importance – both in the workshop and during field work.

INTELLIGENT FUNCTIONS FOR HIGHER QUALITY AND WORK COMFORT

The PATON™ ECO 250 welder has been equipped with a range of advanced technological solutions that support the operator at every stage of work – particularly in demanding power conditions and when welding with electrodes of increased technological requirements.

PRECISE WELDING-CURRENT ADJUSTMENT – The possibility of accurate setting of welding-current parameters enables precise adaptation of them to the electrode type and the characteristics of the material being processed. Thanks to this, the operator gains full control over the process, which translates into stable weld quality and repeatability of results.

SURE IGNITION AND STABLE ARC – The unit ensures smooth and sure arc ignition and its stable maintenance – also during work with electrodes difficult to guide, such as basic electrodes type 7018. This reduces the risk of interruptions in welding and increases work efficiency, whilst simultaneously enhancing operator comfort.

Additionally, the welder automatically supports the user thanks to three intelligent functions:

  • HOT-START – a short-term automatic rise in current intensity at the beginning of welding facilitates arc ignition, reducing the risk of sticking the electrode to the material. This function is particularly useful when working with materials of difficult welding properties.
  • ARC-FORCE – dynamic regulation of current during welding, which ensures arc stability when the electrode is brought closer to the weld pool. This solution allows arc continuity to be maintained, limits the risk of the electrode sticking, and facilitates work in forced positions.
  • ANTI-STICK – in the event of a short-circuit between the electrode and the material, the device automatically reduces the welding current, making it possible safely and quickly to detach the electrode without damaging it and without affecting the weld surface.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND PROTECTION OF ELECTRONICS AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL

The welder has been designed with maximum energy efficiency in mind – it consumes up to 50 % less energy than traditional devices, which translates into lower operating costs and a reduced burden on the environment.

Electronic components are protected by a double layer of protective varnish that shields them from dust, moisture, and other external factors. Such a solution significantly extends the service life of the device and allows it to work in demanding environments. Additionally, the housing with an IP33 ingress-protection class effectively safeguards the interior of the device against atmospheric factors, which ensures stable operation both in workshop conditions and during field use.

EFFICIENT COOLING AND THERMAL PROTECTION – FOR UNINTERRUPTED WORK

The PATON™ ECO 250 welder has been created with intensive use in harsh environmental conditions in mind. The applied cooling system operates at a constant speed, irrespective of the load level, which ensures uninterrupted airflow and effective heat dissipation. Thanks to this, the internal elements are better protected against overheating, which positively affects their durability.

The device has been equipped with a temperature-control system that continuously monitors the working conditions inside the housing. When the temperature exceeds a safe level, automatic protections initiate protective procedures, preventing the overheating of electronic components and increasing the level of user safety. A well-considered housing design and an optimised ventilation layout allow effective cooling even in environments with a high degree of dustiness. Such solutions mean that the ECO 250 model copes excellently during intensive work – both in the workshop and outdoors.

DURABLE AND EFFICIENT POWER LEAD

The welder is equipped with a high-class power lead 2 metres long, made of copper with a cross-section of 3×4,0 mm², which enables safe operation at current loads up to 250A. The copper conductor provides optimal electrical conductivity, whilst the flexible rubber insulation resistant to high temperatures retains its properties even in a low temperature range. Additionally, the cable sheath effectively protects it against mechanical and thermal damage, e.g., as a result of contact with heated metal components.
