Multiprocess Welding Machine PATON™ MultiPRO–350–15–4 – basic data
The digital inverter-based MIG Multiprocess Welding Machine PATON™ MultiPRO-350-15-4 delivers a broad range of technological capabilities to meet professional demands in SMAW (stick electrode), GMAW (MIG/MAG), FCAW (with or without gas), and GTAW HF & LIFT (TIG) processes. With an adjustable current range of 14 to 350 A, the machine ensures precise parameter control for various materials and thicknesses, operating efficiently both in workshop and field environments. The MultiPRO 350-15-4 model supports coated electrodes of 1.6–6.0 mm, welding wires of 0.6–1.4 mm, and tungsten electrodes of 1.0–4.0 mm, offering versatility and accuracy.
Its robust 4-roller wire feeder, featuring a full-drive system and compatibility with 5, 15, or 18 kg spools, guarantees stable and precise wire feeding, even for highly formable aluminium – enabling effective welding of lightweight materials. A convenient polarity change function (DCEP/DCEN) makes for quick configuration adjustments for MIG/MAG or FCAW processes, while the universal EURO connector and modular design enhance ergonomics and operator safety.
In MMA and TIG modes, the operator can weld using only the power source, avoiding the need to relocate the entire wire feeder unit. Furthermore, this machine is devised for reliable operation with generators and long extension cables, ensuring full power and stable performance in any conditions. To boost GTAW welding capabilities, the device incorporates a high-frequency (HF) arc-start mechanism, promoting stable and efficient arc ignition and reducing the risk of tungsten electrode contamination. Advanced digital control enables precise fine-tuning of welding voltage, shielding gas pre-flow time, and wire feed speed, so the equipment can be ideally configured for different materials and job requirements.
A characteristic feature of PATON® semi-automatic machines of the “Multi-Professional” series is the high-quality, sealed, metallic wire feeder, as well as the existing KZ-2 “EURO” type connector, which has become a standard in the world, allowing the user to change the holder at will in the future. The device has a protection module against abnormal levels of supply voltage (overvoltage or voltage drops) as well as against surges. Due to the increased frequency of the voltage supplied to the transformer, the transformer can be several times smaller. Therefore, the weight and overall dimensions of the welder are several times smaller than those of ordinary devices with identical output parameters.
Functions and features of the Multiprocess Welding Machine PATON™ MultiPRO–350–15–4
GASLESS WELDING FUNCTION – WELDING WITH SELF-CONSUMING WIRE
All PATON™ MIG/MAG welding machines are adapted for welding with self-source wire. Such welding, as opposed to the traditional MIG/MAG welding process, is performed without the use of shielding gas – however, this requires the use of a special welding wire. The wire produces its own shielding, which helps to protect the welding arc. Self-shielded wire suitable for PATON welding machines can be purchased here – 5 kg spools of wire will fit all wire feeders.
MULTIPRO SERIES – BUILT-IN IONIZER
The MultiPro series welders have a built-in HF IONIZER, which enables contactless arc ignition in TIG welding. This extension is a function of the TIG handle control button. The handle button control cable connects directly to this module. When the control button on the torch is pressed, the control signal is sent to the welding machine controller, which develops the function of the previous t1 gas flow for cleaning the weld area before welding and with a delay gives the signal to switch the welding machine on – thus enabling TIG welding with contactless arc ignition.
SOLDERING – INDUCTANCE CONTROL
PATON™ MIG/MAG welders of the Standard and PRO series have the possibility of brazing thanks to the function of changing the inductance in three stages. The inductance control enables to optimize the characteristics of the arc depending on the thickness of the component to be welded. This function is necessary to change the speed of the current flow when changing the arc voltage. The thinner the element to be welded with MIG/MAG, the higher the inductance should be (soft arc – less fusion), for thicker elements the opposite (hard arc – more fusion).
