MIG Welding Machine PATON™ ProMIG–630–W–15–4 – basic information
The MIG Welding Machine PATON™ ProMIG-630-W-15-4 is a digital inverter MIG unit that combines versatility with high energy efficiency for professional applications. It supports multiple welding processes, including SMAW (stick electrode), GMAW (MIG/MAG), FCAW (with or without shielding gas), and GTAW LIFT (TIG). With an adjustable welding current range of 18 to 630 A, it allows for precise parameter settings suitable for a wide variety of tasks – both in the workshop and on a construction site. The ProMIG-630-W-15-4 is compatible with both water-cooled and air-cooled torches, and it accommodates stick electrodes (1.6–8.0 mm), welding wires (0.6–1.6 mm), and tungsten electrodes (1.0–5.0 mm), making it an excellent choice for production lines and the welding of steel structures in heavy industry.
Its robust 4-roller wire feed system, compatible with spool weights of 5, 15, or 18 kg, ensures stable and precise wire feeding, including soft aluminium wire, which makes it ideal for welding aluminium. It comes equipped with wheels for easy mobility and can be connected to a communication cable of up to 30 metres in length, significantly enhancing working flexibility in large-scale environments such as industrial halls or construction sites. The straightforward polarity switch (DCEP/DCEN) allows for quick adaptation to different welding methods, while the EURO connector enables easy torch replacement. Its modular design further increases user comfort and operational safety.
Liquid cooling systems such as the PATON Cooler 7 are essential for welding processes that require high currents (above 300 A). They provide effective cooling of the torch’s key components – handle, head, and power cable – according to the equipment’s design. This machine is also engineered to operate reliably under varied field conditions, working seamlessly with generators and long extension cables, ensuring full performance and dependability even in the most demanding environments.
Cutting-Edge Technology for Superior Performance:
- IGBT Technology: Utilizes modern transistors to minimize electromagnetic interference and power loss, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability of the current source.
- Comprehensive Protection: Equipped with an electronic thermal protection system on all heating elements to prevent overheating and extend component lifespan, minimizing the risk of failure.
- Voltage Stabilization: Allows for seamless operation on long extension cables and generator power, eliminating voltage fluctuations for enhanced weld regulation and stability within a range of 320V to 440V.
- Simple Polarity Reversal: Effortlessly switch between Direct Current Electrode Positive (DCEP) and Direct Current Electrode Negative (DCEN) polarities for optimized welding processes tailored to specific materials and conditions.
- Compact and Portable Design: Featuring a separate feeder, the ProMig 630 enables MMA and TIG welding using only the power source, providing versatility and ease of use in various applications.
- Innovative Cooling System: Unique design combined with an adaptive fan speed system ensures extended component lifespan, increased durability, and energy efficiency, even in dusty environments.
Precision Welding Performance:
- Voltage and Wire Feed Speed Ramp Up/Down: Ensures smooth transitions during welding, reducing spatter at ignition and minimizing defects such as crater formation for high-quality welds.
- MIG/MAG Brazing & Inductance Function: Provides flexibility to adjust current ramp up and control dripping rate, allowing users to optimize welding processes based on material thickness and requirements.
- TIG DC Pulse and MMA Pulse: Offers controlled modulation between peak and base current levels, optimizing metal deposition, heat input, and penetration control, resulting in cleaner welds with reduced spatter and post-weld cleanup.
Enhanced Safety Features:
- Voltage Reduction System (VRD): Safely reduces voltage levels on covered electrodes after welding, minimizing the risk of electrical hazards.
- Wired Remote Control: Allows for remote adjustment of welding parameters during MMA welding, enhancing safety in hard-to-reach or hazardous welding environments.
Customizable Welding Experience:
- 16 Distinct Welding Programs: Store and identify preferred welding settings for different applications, providing versatility and convenience.
- Current-Voltage Characteristic Slope Control: Adjusts welding parameters for various electrode coatings, ensuring optimal performance and comfort during welding operations.
Advanced Safety Measures:
- No Load Voltage Reduction: Activates when welding in enclosed spaces, reducing voltage levels to below 12V after electrode detachment for enhanced electrical safety.
The Paton ProMig 630 (15-4) is not just a welding machine; it’s a comprehensive solution designed to meet the diverse needs of professional welders, offering unmatched performance, precision, and safety in every weld.
