Welding Cooler PATON™ Cooler–7–S – basic data

The PATON Cooler 7-S cooling unit is designed for efficient heat dissipation with a built-in flow sensor for effective cooling of TIG welding torches using coolant.

The Cooler 7-S features a large capacity, accommodating up to 7 liters of coolant, and high performance, allowing liquid transport up to 10 meters in height with a flow rate of 6.5 l/min. The device weighs 17 kg (without filling) and is equipped with quick connectors for easy attachment of cooling hoses. Its robust design allows the unit to be used as a standalone cooling block or as a base for larger welding inverters. Additionally, special wheels can be installed to enhance the unit’s mobility.

Equipped with an 8-pin connector, the PATON Cooler 7-S is designed to work with the TIG AC/DC ProTIG-315 inverter. These types of cooling units are essential during welding processes with high current intensities (from 140 A and above). The PATON Cooler 7-S ensures efficient heat dissipation from key components of the welding torch, such as the handle interior, the head, or the current cable, significantly enhancing the reliability and durability of the equipment.

Using water as a coolant is strongly discouraged, as the mineral salts contained in water deposit on the internal walls of the cooling system, forming residue. These deposits act as thermal insulators, significantly reducing cooling efficiency. Over time, they can also reduce the diameter of the hoses, restrict liquid flow, and lead to potential failures in the TIG welding torch.

It is recommended to use ethylene glycol or specialized coolants for welding equipment, such as BTC-20 NF and BTC-50 NF, produced by the German company ABICOR BINZEL. These coolants have high thermal conductivity and additionally ensure proper lubrication of components such as pumps in cooling units, extending their service life.
