PATON™ MINI 150–C KIT–#1 – COMPACT MMA WELDER FOR THE DEMANDING
Inverter Welder PATON™ MINI–150 is a modern, lightweight and efficient appliance intended for manual arc welding with direct current (MMA). Created with home users as well as fitters and service workshops in mind, who require reliable equipment in a compact form – without compromises regarding efficiency.
FULL POWER IN A SMALL SIZE
The PATON™ MINI 150 welder has been engineered for those who expect full performance in a compact form. Owing to a maximum welding current of 150A the appliance easily copes with electrodes of diameter from Ø1,6 mm to Ø4 mm – including those difficult to strike. A duty cycle at the level of at least 40% at full load allows the completion of the majority of tasks typical for household, assembly and preparatory works performed by fitters – from garage repairs through the assembly of structures and preparation of material for welding. Miniature dimensions and low weight do not signify compromises – this is a fully functional welder ready for intensive operation.
Thanks to the degree of protection IP33, the appliance is additionally safeguarded against the ingress of solid bodies and precipitation of water at an angle up to 60° from the vertical, which markedly increases its durability and permits safe exploitation in demanding working conditions.
COMPACTNESS AND LIGHTNESS THANKS TO INVERTER TECHNOLOGY
The increase of the supply-voltage frequency of the transformer has made it possible to significantly reduce the size and mass of the appliance in comparison with traditional constructions – without compromises in the scope of operating parameters. PATON™ MINI 150 weighs merely 3,3 kg, which provides exceptional mobility, convenience of transport and saving of space in the workshop. The compact form and full functionality make this appliance an ideal choice for field work and for service applications.
STABLE OPERATION EVEN DURING VOLTAGE DROPS
The MINI 150A welder has been adapted to operate under large and long-lasting fluctuations of mains voltage – in the range from 170V to 260V. The built-in current-stabilisation system ensures smooth and safe operation even when powered from generating sets or when long extension leads are used.
For example, when welding with an Ø3,0 mm electrode and setting the current at 120A, using an extension lead of 2,5 mm² cross-section, it is possible to use the welder without problems at a distance reaching even 130 metres without loss of operating parameters. In turn, for an Ø2,0 mm electrode, with the current set at 80A and using an extension lead of 1,5 mm² cross-section, the cable length may amount to as much as 115 metres, ensuring stable and comfortable working conditions even in less accessible locations. Such possibilities make PATON™ MINI 150A perfectly suited both for workshop and field works where access to a power source is limited.
ADVANCED FUNCTIONS FOR COMFORT AND WELD QUALITY
PATON™ MINI 150A has been equipped with a range of functions facilitating the welding process and improving the quality of the works performed, even when difficult electrodes are used or under less stable power-supply conditions.
SMOOTH WELDING-CURRENT ADJUSTMENT – precise matching of the current value enables ideally fitting the parameters to the electrode type and the work performed, which translates into better control over the weld.
STABLE WELDING ARC – the appliance ensures easy striking and maintenance of the arc even when working with electrodes that are difficult to ignite, which significantly raises work comfort and limits the number of failed ignitions.
Additionally, the appliance employs three key functions supporting welding:
- HOT-START – an automatic temporary increase of current during arc initiation. It facilitates rapid electrode striking, particularly when working with materials that are difficult to weld or with electrodes of large diameter.
- ARC-FORCE – dynamic adjustment of current during welding, stabilising the arc if the electrode approaches the weld pool. This function reduces the risk of electrode sticking and enables stable arc guidance in various welding positions.
- ANTI-STICK – in the event of the electrode sticking to the material, the appliance automatically lowers the welding current, which allows quick and easy detachment of the electrode without the risk of damaging the weld or the electrode.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND ELECTRONICS PROTECTION
The appliance consumes up to half the energy of traditional power sources, which makes it a more environmentally friendly and economical solution. All electronic assemblies have been protected with a double layer of protective varnish, which significantly extends their service life even in difficult working conditions (dust, humidity). The high degree of protection IP33 additionally secures the welder against the influence of external factors, which increases its resistance and reliability in everyday use.
ADVANCED COOLING SYSTEM AND THERMAL PROTECTION
The PATON™ MINI 150A welder has been fitted with an intelligent cooling system that ensures a constant fan speed regardless of the current load on the appliance. Thanks to this, cooling is stable and effective at all times, which protects key components against overheating and extends the life of the entire appliance.
The built-in thermal protection of the heating elements monitors the operating temperature and automatically protects the appliance from overheating. Should excessive temperature be detected, the welder introduces appropriate protective procedures, which prevents failures and increases user safety. The unique design of the unit and the optimised airflow through the cooling chamber markedly increase component durability, appliance longevity and extend the duty cycle, even in production environments with a high level of dust. Such a solution makes PATON™ MINI 150A cope excellently in harsh workshop conditions.
HIGH-QUALITY POWER-SUPPLY LEAD
The appliance is equipped with a 2-metre power-supply lead made entirely of copper, with a cross-section of 3×1,5 mm², designed for operation at currents up to 160A. The copper core provides very good electrical conductivity, and the heat-resistant rubber insulation retains flexibility even at low temperatures and protects the lead from damage resulting from contact with hot metal elements.
DURABLE PATON™ TRANSPORT CASE – EQUIPMENT PROTECTION IN ALL CONDITIONS
A sturdy, universal PATON™ transport case is included in the set with the welder, designed with the protection of welding equipment during storage and transport in mind.
Made of impact-resistant synthetic material (polypropylene copolymer – PP-C), the case combines low weight with high mechanical resistance. It may be used for transporting welding equipment, leads, holders, electrodes, accessories or delicate electronics – both in workshop and field conditions. The compact size and convenient handle ensure comfort of everyday use and ease of carrying.
