Research & Development

As early as the 2000s, the PATON welding equipment plant established its own laboratories to strengthen R&D and advance inverter welding machine production technology. Since then, the plant’s design potential has steadily grown:

new positions are regularly created for top NTUU “KPI” graduates across departments;
company resources are consistently invested in the development and upkeep of infrastructure to support the creation of cutting-edge equipment models.

PATON’s design and technology laboratories develop all components and welding current sources in-house — from housing design to proprietary electronic circuits and software solutions. Development focuses on the following welding and cutting processes:

manual arc welding (MMA);
argon arc welding (TIG);
semi-automatic welding (MIG / MAG);
air-plasma cutting (CUT).

The laboratories are equipped with advanced measuring and calibration equipment used to fine-tune inverter welding machines operating at currents up to 1200A.

In the electrode department laboratory, alongside ongoing quality control of incoming raw materials and finished product batches, new formulations of welding materials are also being developed.

All PATON welding equipment and related materials are exclusively in-house developments. They are manufactured and distributed using the company’s production facilities in Kyiv.

We use raw materials from top Ukrainian suppliers (such as Odeskabel, KROK) and electronic components from global manufacturers (including Vishay, NXP, Infineon, Kendeil, Toshiba, and Texas Instruments).

PATON welding equipment is known for its unique performance characteristics and high reliability, attracting users across Ukraine and in over 40 countries worldwide — promoting the “Made in Ukraine” brand globally.

PATON products meet all required standards and are certified by recognised bodies including UkrSEPRO, the Eurasian Certificate of Conformity, CE, and others. PATON™ products fully comply with applicable standards and hold the corresponding certificates.
